The Cambrian Coast Line has ‘Miles of Glorious Sands’. There are a wide variety of superb beaches, many of them award winning, at seaside resorts such as: Aberystwyth, Borth, Aberdovey, Tywyn, Barmouth, Harlech, Criccieth and Pwllheli which as well as the sands offer traditional favourites such as fish and chip shops, cafes, ice cream and cold drink vendors, pubs, rock and souvenir shops.
If you want to get away from the crowds there are quieter beaches accessible from some of the smaller stations on the Coast Line including: Fairbourne, Llanaber, Talybont, Dyffryn Ardudwy, Llanbedr, Llandanwg and Abererch. The beaches referred to are within walking distance of the respective stations.
Stroll away life’s stresses on some of the UK’s best beaches without having to use the car! Why not try these 3 great linear Seaside Strolls between railway stations on the Cambrian Coast Railway Line?
It is imperative that you check tide times before attempting any of the Seaside Strolls as well as taking into account local weather conditions - ONLY attempt a Stroll if you are confident you can complete it! The telephone numbers for the relevant Harbourmasters are provided for each Stroll or contact Gwynedd Council Maritime Unit: 01758 704 066 - They will ONLY be able to provide factual information on tide times NOT ON whether it is safe to undertake the walk!
Some of the Seaside Strolls involve walking along or crossing sections of highway or the railway itself (at authorised crossings only) - exercise caution on these and take special care of children and dogs.
